Ventilation Systems

Ventilation can improve your home’s comfort levels during both summer and winter. With the right ventilation system, you can reduce this heat to the outside ambient shade temperature. Instead of your home storing all that heat through the night, your home has instant relief decreasing the pressure on other items you use to cool your home.

House ventilation comes in various sizes and models and are wind driven some models are available in electric or solar connections. Supavents have a lifetime warranty on their stainless steel bearings  and against hail damage; perfect for homes on the Sunshine Coast. Whirlybirds vent the huge heat that builds up in your roof during the day, your roof can get up to 70°.

Roof ventilation is a must if you have ducted air conditioning in your home.

Benefits of Ventilation Systems

Keeping your home ventilated is just as important as having a good insulation plan for cost savings and energy efficiency. If you’re a homeowner, consider these benefits of having good ventilation in your house.

The process of replacing hot, stale air with clean, fresh air offers benefits that include:

  • Reduces your energy bills, as your home will not require the same amount of air conditioning. Less use of your air conditioner will also increase the life of your air conditioning systems.

  • Reduces the heat build-up in your ceiling, thus improving your home environment throughout the year.

  • As much as 12 litres of moisture is drawn into the attic through showers and cooking daily! This causes mold and mildew in your home and subsequent health issues. Ventilation helps keep you’re your attic space dry and moisture free.

  • With roof temperatures of up to 70°C in summer, a lack of ventilation significantly effect the efficiency and performance of your home. Ducted Air Conditioning systems and roof ventilators address this reduction in efficiency and cooling by reducing the air temperature in the roof by up to 30°C in the hot summer months. This ensures your air conditioner can run more efficiently with less chance of breakdowns when you need it most!

  • We at Green earth Solutions can vent individual rooms or garage spaces directly to the attic or ducted inline to a roof outlet. This is a popular solution when there is lack of air movement. These systems can be fixed open or closeable.

  • Underfloor ventilation, should be considered when you have cool air under your home. With this system, cool air can be vented up through the house and significantly cool your home on hot days. This is done with closable vents so they can be closed during the cooler months.

Ventilation Systems

We Have a Ventilation System to Suit Your Needs

Home and Building Ventilation Systems

In summer, good attic ventilation helps reduce heat build-up.  In the winter, warm, moist air will seep into the attic from the living space below. Ventilation allows the heat and moisture to escape which keeps your attic dry and reduces damp and mold growth.

When you have a sealed roof, there is heat build up that cannot escape. Over extended periods of hot weather, the heat mass will constantly increase and be absorbed into your building structure. This ads huge pressure to the thermal mass of the building, making living spaces very uncomfortable and requiring other devices like fans or air conditioning to try and cool the home. Ventilating your roof space allows your roof to breath and returning to the outside ambient temperature every night, making your home so much more balanced and livable all year round.

For safety and security, most homes are closed and locked-up during the day resulting in little airflow throughout the home. When air follow is restricted the air will go stale, odours will accumulate and the concentration of household pollutants will drastically increase. This often causes a rise the level of allergens and asthma triggers in the air as well as decrease the energy efficiency of the home.

Solar Ventilation Systems by SolarArk

Summer roof temperatures often exceed 70°C. This greatly increases room temperatures inside your home. With SolarArk solar roof ventilators, you can reduce roof temperatures by up to 30°C and room temperatures by up to 6°C.

Additional benefits of Solar roof ventilators include:

We Offer a Range Of Ventilation System Solutions

Natural Wind Ventilation Systems

For ventilation to be most effective, no matter how it sources it’s energy (wind, solar, electricity) you need to have an adequate air draw.

If you do not already have perforated eaves or guttering that will allow air flow from the ceiling line of your roof, eave venting is the easiest and most cost-effective solution. Although there are a large range of natural ventilators on the market, we find that Supavent made by Edmonds to be the best.

As it is made for Australian conditions, Supavent includes:

  1. Stainless-steel bearings (all other brands have steel)

  2. Unique blade designs. This means it is smaller and more efficient than the aluminum ventilation.

  3. It boasts 17 colour variations and a clear version, to suit all roof styles and colours!

  4. Made from UV stable polymer for the harsh Australian climate.

  5. It has been tested to withstand winds up to 235km/hr

  6. Suitable for coastal locations.

  7. Fits roofs with a pitch up to 45°

  8. Life time warranty of 15 years!

Electric Ventilation Systems

There are many types of electric ventilation systems on the market. We highly recommend the Edmonds brand, as they are the only company that use high-wuality polymers that designed to withstand Australian weather conditions. Most electric ventilation systems can be controlled with a thermostat, and with the advancement of smart-technology, some devices allow for the detailed control of your ventilation system from your smart device from anywhere in the world!
